US Ebola patients discharged after recovery

  • Two humanitarian workers from the United States, who were admitted to a hospital in Atlanta after contracting Ebola in West Africa, have been discharged.

Dr Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, a missionary, received a drug treatment that is still in an experimental stage.

Brantly said he was “thrilled to be alive, to be well and to be reunited with my family.”

Around 1200 people have died of the Ebola outbreak in the West African nations of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea this year.
