US Ebola patient Thomas Duncan is 'fighting for his life'
October 6 , 2014
The first patient diagnosed with Ebola in the United States is battling for his life in a Dallas hospital.
Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said Thomas Duncan had “taken a turn for the worse”.
Dallas authorities said they had traced a homeless man who could have been in contact with Duncan.
Duncan came from Liberia, one of the west African countries worst affected by the Ebola epidemic.
As many as 38 people may have possibly been in contact with Duncan, US officials said.
