US carries out Cyber Attack on Iranian Weapon System, Imposes "Major Additional Sanctions" on Iran

  • Reports say the United States has carried out a cyber-attack on Iranian computer systems that were controlling rocket and missile launchers as the Us President Donald Trump pulled out of air strikes on Iran. US reports have said that this scathing cyber attack was carried out in retaliation to the shooting down of the US drones by Iran as well as Iranian attacks (alleged by the US) on oil tankers. Till now no independent sources have confirmed damage done by the purported US cyber attack on the Iranian systems. Meanwhile, imposition of “major” additional sanctions has been announced by the US President Donald Trump. The announcement comes after Iran said that they are going ahead with their plan of exceeding internationally agreed upon limits on its nuclear program. Trump has also announced through his tweeter handle that the new US sanctions on Iran will be effective from Monday.
