US and China to lead other nations in the battle against climate change

  • China has vowed to take step towards tackling the climate change, according to media reports. It told a UN summit that its goal is to make deep emissions cuts by the year 2020. On Tuesday, September 23, the US President Barack Obama urged world leaders to follow US lead on the climate issue. The declaration comes despite many obstacles that stand in the way to stop the rise of carbon-dioxide emissions.

The summit is regarded as the biggest and high-level meeting on climate change and was hosted by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.
