United States: An Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Killed in "Apparent Murder-Suicide"

  • Over the weekend, a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania in  was shot and killed in an "apparent murder-suicide," he was researching on "very significant findings" toward COVID-19. Ross Police Department is investigating the matter and confirmed that Dr Bing Liu was found dead at his home and had gunshot wounds to the head, neck and torso. The investigation officers also believe that there was a second man who killed the doctor first and then ran towards his own car and killed himself. According to Detective Sgt. Brian Kohlhepp, the men knew each other. The University has issued a statement saying Liu's death is deeply saddening, and he was an outstanding researcher and professor, and the University shall finish his research work as a homage to the professor.
