Uncertainly over talks between Hong Kong government, students
October 9 , 2014
Hong Kong's government has cancelled plans to talk with student representatives on Friday, saying it would be “impossible to have a constructive dialogue” after leaders of the protest movement called for greater efforts in occupying protest sites.
Since Monday, there have been no major protests in the city, with civil servants returning to work.
Protests broke out after China announced that Beijing would have a decisive say in which candidates will run for the 2017 Hong Kong chief executive poll.
