UN slams attack on Yemeni mosque

  • UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UN Security Council have condemned the terrorist attacks on a mosque in Sanaa city of Yemen Thursday, which left at least 30 people dead.

    The secretary-general expressed "his deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims" who lost their lives on Thursday during prayers for the Eid al-Adha, media reports quoted the statement as saying.

    Also on Thursday, the 15-nation Security Council condemned "in the strongest terms the horrific terrorist attacks" on the mosque in Sanaa, said a separate statement issued by the UN body. (Source: IANS)
