UN officials to investigate ISIS atrocities
September 2 , 2014
A team of United Nations (UN) will investigate reports of atrocities committed by ISIS militants who are responsible for “acts of inhumanity on an unimaginable scale” in Iraq, according to media reports.
Flavia Pansieri, the deputy human rights commissioner of the UN, said atrocities had also been committed, on a smaller scale, by Iraqi government forces.
Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, the human rights minister of Iraq, said Isis militants were not a local phenomenon, but posed “an imminent danger” to the entire world.
