Ukrainian Foreign Minister Defends US President Trump's Call with the New Ukraine President

  • Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko told media that he is aware of the July phone call between the US President Donald Trump and the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. He went on to say that he is also aware of the specifics of the conversation between the two leaders and he thinks that “there was no pressure”.  The top Ukrainian official defended the talks where the US President reportedly urged his Ukrainian counterpart to probe the business dealings of former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, in Ukraine. Prystaiko called the concerned conversation long and friendly but also said that there were many questions that needed serious answers. Joe Biden (one of the Democratic Party hopefuls for 2020 US Presidential election), on Saturday, denied having any conversation with his son on his businesses in the Eastern European country. He went on to accuse Trump of using his “overwhelming” Presidential power to abuse him as the current President knows that Biden will “beat him like a drum” in the upcoming US Presidential election.
