Ukraine president takes sick leave
January 31 , 2014
Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovich said he's suffering from high temperature and a respiratory ailment. Hence he's stepping aside, leaving the country's government in a limbo.
Protestors, who are occupying the government buildings are demanding his resignation and said they'll leave only when Yanukovich resigns.
Moreover, not everyone believes that the president is actually sick. "This smacks of a 'diplomatic illness'" an opposition party member said. A leading opposition figure also said that he may be declaring a state of emergency. "Always if some Soviet Union leaders have to make an unpopular decision, they go to the hospital."
