Ukraine crisis: Surge in fighting ahead of peace talks
February 11 , 2015
There has been a surge in fighting in eastern Ukraine ahead of peace talks that are likely to take place on Wednesday.
The increased number of clashes are being seen as attempts by both government troops and pro-Russia separatists to quickly consolidate gains.
Several civilians were killed in a rocket attack on Kramatorsk, with officials blaming rebels for the casualties. A volunteer force, fighting on behalf of Kiev, carried out an offensive against rebels in the Mariupol area, media reports said.
