Ukraine conflict: more civilian casualties near Donetsk airport
October 2 , 2014
Several civilians have been killed in fighting between Ukraine’s government forces and rebels as they try to take control of Donetsk airport.
The pro-Russian fighters have been trying to push government forces away from the airport, despite a ceasefire that came into effect last month. A school near the airport was among the civilian buildings hit in the fighting, reports said.
Large parts of Donetsk are held by the rebels. The conflict in eastern Ukraine has killed more than 3,000 people.
