Ukraine ceasefire breached, blame game starts
September 7 , 2014
The ceasefire in eastern Ukraine is in danger of collapsing after shelling and rocket fire were reported from Mariupol and Donetsk.
Both Kiev and the pro-Russian rebel fighters have accused each other of breaching the truce.
Many of those fighting on behalf of the Ukrainian government in the port city of Mariupol are believed to be members of the Azov battalion, who have a far-right ideology.
The ceasefire is part of a seven-point peace plan issued by Russia’s president Vladimir Putin.
