Ukraine blacklists 14 Russian singers and actors
August 9 , 2015
The Ukrainian government has blacklisted 14 Russian actors and singers, saying they posed a “threat to national security” for supporting pro-Russia rebels and Russia’s annexation of Crimea.
The work of these artists will be banned from TV, cinema and radios in Ukraine.
The banned artists include Gerard Depardieu, who has called Russia a “great democracy”.
Ukraine’s culture ministry said it had acted following a request by the country’s security service.
