UK steps up airport security after bombing fears
July 3 , 2014
Security at airports across Britain will be stepped up after American authorities raised concerns about Syrian and Yemenis terrorists making bombs which could possibly be smuggled on to passenger planes.
American officials were quoted as saying that terrorist operatives in Yemen and Syria were working together to develop explosives that could dodge detection and bring down planes.
A spokesperson for UK’s Department for Transport said that though the threat level was substantial, changes in security measures would not result in major disruption to passengers.
