UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will Return to Work on Monday

  • As per Downing Street spokesperson, the Prime Minister of United Kingdom Boris Johnson will resume work today after a fortnight recovering from COVID-19. Foreign Secretary and UK's First Secretary of State Dominic Raab, will step aside after deputising on behalf of the PM. On the first day of work, Johnson is scheduled to chair the morning meeting of the government's COVID-19 "war cabinet." The PM was admitted to the hospital on April 5 after self-isolation at home when diagnosed with Coronavirus. In the hospital, he was put on a ventilator in intensive care for three nights. He was then discharged from the hospital on April 12 and thereon, he was taken to Chequers, the Prime Minister's countryside retreat for further recovery.
