UK marks Srebrenica genocide through dozens of events
July 6 , 2015
Dozens of events were organized across Britain in memory of the thousands of Muslim men and boys who were massacred by Bosnian Serb forces in Srebrenica two decades ago.
Leading tributes ahead of a service at Westminster Abbey, UK Prime Minister David Cameron said that people must “never, ever forget what happened.”
The 1995 genocide was the worst massacre in Europe since the Second World War, and occurred as the former Yugoslavia was breaking up into several parts.
