Uganda police busts 'terror cell,' 19 arrested
September 15 , 2014
Ugandan police have reportedly seized explosives from a suspected cell of the al-Shabab militant group and arrested 19 men.
The militants were planning terror attacks in Kampala, Uganda’s capital, authorities said.
Uganda issued a high alert after Ahmed Abdi Godane, the co-founder and leader of al-Shabab, was killed in Somalia in a US air strike.
Rose Namayanja, Uganda’s information minister, has appealed to people to stay vigilant as the anti-militant operation “is still going on.”
