U.N. Security Council Holds Meeting on North Korea's Latest Missile Test

  • As per reports, a day after condemning North Korea’s missile launch and threatening to enforce new sanctions, the U.N. Security Council held a closed-door meeting Tuesday.

The council had indicated on Monday that it may act against North Korea because of the country’s flagrant and aggressive non-cooperation of earlier demands to stop all nuclear testing.

The council voiced concern about Sunday's launch and the unanimous statement was backed by China as well.

The launch was called a highly threatening behavior by the council statement. The council further urged all nations to implement the six North Korean sanctions resolutions in a serious manner.
