Typhoon Vongfong makes landfall in Japan's Kyushu island

  • At least one person was reported missing and many were injured after Typhoon Vongfong hit Japan on Monday. Over 300 flights had to be cancelled with winds of up to 112 mph lashing the shore as the storm made landfall in Kyushu island, reports said.  

    The typhoon could reach Tokyo later in the day. 

    In Shizuoka, three Chinese nationals who were fishing got swept away. Two were rescued, but one remains missing.
