Typhoon Matmo sweeps across Taiwan
July 23 , 2014
Typhoon Matmo has hit Taiwan, bringing with it strong winds, heavy rain, and the possibility of landslides.
Winds of speeds up to 64 knots caused trees to fall, and electricity was down in several areas.
Offices and schools had to be shut, and many flights got canceled as Matmo was downgraded to a tropical cyclone, which is now heading to the Chinese mainland.
Coastal provinces such as Fujian, Jiangxi, and Anhuiare are in the storm’s path, Chinese media reported.
