Typhoon kills dozens in South China

A ferocious typhoon took the lives of at least 25 people in the Guangdong province of south China. Classified as a "super typhoon", Typhoon Usagi was headed for Hong Kong, but ended up changing its direction all of a sudden and went slightly toward north.
The storm affected about 3 million people in the region.
Apart from resulting in the cancelation of 540 flights in Beijing, the typhoon also caused tens of thousands of people to be evacuated from their houses.
Damages have been estimated to be over $500M and large parts of the country remain without power.
