Typhoon Hagupit kills 27 in Philippines
December 9 , 2014
At least 27 people were killed and a trail of destruction left behind after typhoon Hagupit swept the Philippines, but the damage and death toll were considerably lesser than last year’s killer typhoon Haiyan.
A better prepared government evacuated a record 1.7 million people, one of the largest evacuations of its kind in modern history.
Also, capital Manila was out of harm’s way of Hagupit, the most destructive storm to hit the country in 2014.
