Typhoon Damrey Hits Coastal Vietnam, 14 People Killed

South-central coast of Vietnam is hit by Typhoon Damrey, which destroyed 302 homes and killed over 15 people as per current available reports. In a statement, provincial disaster agency said that building collapse and floods killed 14 people in Khanh Hoa, worst hit province in Vietnam. Agency reports also say that the thundering typhoon blew roofs off over 25,000 houses and sunk 112 boats (includes both transport and fishing). Disaster agency officials say that in Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces one person is reportedly killed and four persons are reportedly missing. In high risk coastal areas, around 35,000 people have been evacuated.
