Two Indian-Americans co-champions of US Scripps National Spelling Bee

Two Indian-American children, Jairam Hathwar and Nihar Janga, have emerged co-champions of the US Scripps National Spelling Bee, thanks to the words "Feldenkrais" and "Gesellschaft". Jairam spelled "feldenkrais," correctly, while Nihar aced "gesellschaft." The annual contest that went late into the night in the state of Maryland, witnessed 11-year-old Nihar and 13-year-old Jairam going head-to-head for 25 rounds. Each winner receives $45,000 in cash and prizes and a trophy.
