Two Californian Residents Convicted for Intending to Join IS

Two men from California have been convicted on the ground of their intention to join IS. Nadel Elhuzayel and Muhanad Badawi, both 25, have been convicted by the federal court after a two week trial. They expressed their wish to join the IS on social media, where Elhuzayel has his Facebook profile picture which displays the IS flag and he also swore allegiance to the IS leader, Abu-Bakr al-Baghdadi. They were arrested while Elhuzayel was about to board a Los Angeles plane to head to Turkey with an aim to be a part of IS.
