Turkish President says they'll Spearhead Fight against ISIS after US Troop-Pullout

  • After Washington’s abrupt policy shift and withdrawal of 2,000-odd troops from Syria, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said on Friday that they will now lead the fight against the ISIS militants. Erdogan said: “We will be working on our operational plans to eliminate ISIS elements, which are said to remain intact in Syria, in line with our conversation with President Trump”. The US allies including France, Germany, and Syrian Kurdish YPG fighters are not happy about the sudden troop pullout decision of Trump. While France and Germany believe that the campaign against ISIS will be weakened after the decision, Syrian Kurdish YPG fighters believe that they will be decimated by Turkish forces. YPG militia is considered terrorists by Turkey.
