  • Turkish Government closes Airspace to US Military Aircraft

A day after Turkey foiled a coup by a section of Turkish military, Pentagon’s endeavor to carry on aerial strike on the Islamic State (ISIS or ISIL) militants in Syria and Iraq took a serious beating as Turkish authorities closed its airspace to military aircrafts. Consequently, Incirlik Air Base has been closed to military aircrafts. Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook told media that United States officials are working with their Turkish counterparts for resuming air operations. Meanwhile, Central Command of American military is reportedly altering flight operations for minimizing “effects on the campaign” against ISIS.
