Turkey violence: Three soldiers, one cop killed in rebel attacks

  • Three Turkish soldiers and one police officer have been killed in separate attacks as violence in the Kurd-dominated southeast escalates after the end of a two-year truce.

At least six soldiers were also wounded after PKK militants targeted a military convoy near Bingol town using a remote-controlled device, reports said.

The police officer was killed in rebel gunfire near Semdinli town, close to the border with Iraq.

The ceasefire collapsed last month after the Turkish military launched air attacks on rebel camps in Iraq.
