Turkey bombs Kurdish PKK rebel targets near Iraqi border

Turkey’s jets have carried out air raids on PKK Kurdish rebel positions in Hakkari province close to the Iraqi border, media reports said.
The bombing, carried out by F-16 and F-4 planes, were the first major air raid on the rebel group since it declared a truce in March 2013. According to one media report, “heavy casualties” were reported in Daglica village in the south-east.
Clashes have also been reported between PKK rebels and Turkish forces in Tunceli.
