Trump's Trade Representative Confirmed by US Senate

  • As per reports, Robert Lighthizer has been confirmed as the Trade Representative by US Senate to serve the Trump administration. He will be launching a renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement and speed up more broad plans to reconstitute American trade policy.

With an 82-14 vote, Lighthizer won support from Republicans as well as Democrats in the Republican-led Senate on Thursday, which ultimately confirmed his nomination.

Reports say that some Democrats were confident Lighthizer would put efforts to help U.S. workers.
