Trump's Former Personal Lawyer to Be Released Early from Prison Due to COVID-19

The federal Bureau of Prisons notified that Michael Cohen, the former personal lawyer for the United States President Donald Trump would be released early from prison due to COVID-19 outbreak. As per reports, the jail where Cohen is serving his three-year sentence at the federal prison camp in Otisville, New York, has tested 14 people and seven staff members positive COVID-19. Hence, the decision to release was taken. But before the release, he will be kept at a prison camp for 14 days for isolation purpose. Cohen was scheduled for release in November 2021, but now will be allowed to serve the remaining period from home confinement. Cohen was awarded 3-year sentence in 2018 due to tax fraud, lying to Congress and campaign finance violation.
