Trump will meet North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un only if it's "fruitful"

  • US President Donald Trump is really looking forward to meeting North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un in a leadership summit which could take place by early June this year. The venue for the summit has not been decided yet. He made the grounds of his presence very clear. He stated "If I think that if it's a meeting that is not going to be fruitful we're not going to go. If the meeting when I'm there is not fruitful I will respectfully leave the meeting".

In this leadership summit, the concern over the threats posed by the North Korea's nuclear weapons of mass destruction will be addressed. Another issue to be resolved in the summit would be the release of three Americans detained in North Korea. This would be the first leadership summit between the two nations after six decades of bitterness following the Korean War.
