Trump Warns against Attacks on Idlib

  • The US President Donald Trump shows disapproval over attacking the Syrian city Idlib. The rebel-held province of the city has been attacked by the Syrian government where roughly 10,000 al-Nusra and al-Qaeda jihadist fighters are hiding, as per the UN report. Trump has warned both Syrian government and its Iranian and Russian allies against attacking the province. In his tweet, Trump labeled attacks as a 'grave humanitarian mistake,' indicating the possibility of thousands getting killed.

The UN, too, has echoed a similar sentiment stating that the consequences could be disastrous for a large number of civilians. The US State Department has stated that it would respond if there were any chemical attacks by the government of Syria.
