Tropical Storm Maria to Hit Irma-Affected Regions
September 17 , 2017
Tropical Storm Maria is formed in the western Atlantic Ocean on Saturday. Reports say Maria currently has a maximum sustained wind of 50 mph. National Hurricane Center says that this newly formed storm is heading at 19 mph towards the Caribbean. Forecasters believe Maria will transform into a hurricane by late Monday. By Tuesday or Wednesday, the Irma affected regions may again have a face-off with Maria. This storm is joining another tropical storm named Lee, which was formed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean earlier Saturday. While Maria is spinning at around 590 miles east-southeast of the Lesser Antilles, Lee is spinning at around 720 miles west-southwest of Cape Verde.
