Transgendered teen killed by mob

  • Dwayne Jones of Jamaica had faced a tough time all his life. His father had asked him to leave the house at age 14.

Jones had been teased in school to the point where he dropped out but his torture ended recently when Jones was brutally beaten, stabbed, shot and run over by a car after the transgender teen dressed as a woman for a street party.

His transgender friend said "when I saw Dwayne's body, I started shaking and crying. It was horrible. It was so, so painful to see him like that."

The case highlights the reality of being gay or transgendered in Jamaica. Some say its one of the most hostile countries toward homosexuals.

There have been no arrests in Dwayne's murder so far.
