Toronto mayor Rob Ford in hospital, being checked for tumor

  • Rob Ford, the mayor of Toronto, was admitted to hospital after a “working diagnosis” of a tumor.

The controversial mayor, who admitted last year to consuming crack cocaine, suffered at least three months of abdominal pain before being hospitalized.

Though there have been several calls urging him to step down, Ford is standing for the October re-election.

The Humber River Hospital said in a statement that further investigations were needed for a “definitive diagnosis”.
