Toronto mayor accused of conspiracy regarding jail beating
January 30 , 2014
Another interesting event in Rob Ford's life: His sister's ex-boyfriend has accused him of conspiring to have a man beaten in prison.
Scott MacIntryre mentioned that the mayor was responsible for the assault at a jail in Toronto in March 2012. The lawsuit says that MacIntrye was aware of the mayor's drug and alcohol use and said he was threatened with serious consequences if he didn't stay quiet.
"They wanted to know if I was going to do the right thing - was I going to keep my mouth shut," MacIntrye said, who was had his leg broken and teeth shattered in jail.
Ford's lawyer denies the allegations, saying that they have no foundation. The mayor hasn't commented on the situation himself.
