Top French chefs complain about food porn

  • People have begun to take and share photos of food on social media but the issue recently caught attention since two top chefs from France have asked people to put their phones away when they're served food.

Gilles Goujon, who runs L'Auberge du Vieux Puits, said people ruin the surprise by posting photos and complained that the practice crimps on his "intellectual property." He also complained about the smartphone photos, which rarely come out good.

Alexander Gauthier thinks the same way and said taking photos results in a distraction from the experience and he even has a no-camera logo on his menu at La Grenouillère. "Photos are not banned, but I want them to question it."

Another Parisian chef David Toutain thinks otherwise and said social media has always helped him and continues to do so. "It is advertising for us."
