Tony Abbott pays tribute to victims of Sydney café siege
December 16 , 2014
Australia’s prime minister Tony Abbott paid tribute to the two victims of the Sydney café siege who lost their lives as the country struggled to come to terms with the incident.
Abbott said the duo -- cafe manager Tori Johnson, 34 and lawyer Katrina Dawson, 38 – were “decent, good people” who became victims of a “deeply disturbed” man’s “sick fantasy”.
The two hostages and the gunman – Man Haron Monis, an Iranian refugee with a known criminal record -- were killed when police commandos barged into Lindt Chocolat Café.
