Thousands waiting to be rescued in floods in India, Pakistan

Army and disaster response teams worked hard to rescue people as thousands continue to be in the danger zone in the flood-hit areas of India and Pakistan, as per media reports.
Punjab province in Pakistan is the hardest hit area in the country, with several rivers overflowing.
In India’s Kashmir region, thousands of people in Srinagar are still stranded as the capital's streets remain flooded.
Around 300 people are believed to have died after seven days of flooding in the two countries.
Narendra Modi, the Indian prime minister, has called the floods a “national disaster” and promised all possible government help.
