Thousands of migrants enter Slovenia after Hungary closes border
October 18 , 2015
Thousands of migrants have crossed into Slovenia after Hungary closed its border to more arrivals.
According to the UN refugee agency, around 4,000 migrants have already reached Slovenia. Most of them hope to move on to other countries such as Austria and Germany. Slovenia’s army is on standby to help the police in dealing with the influx.
Prime Minister Miro Cerar said Slovenia would accept the migrants as long as Germany and Austria keep their borders open.
