The USA accused China of Carrying out Aggressive Spy Campaign on Linkedin

  • The U.S. counter-intelligence chief William Evanina told media in an interview that the US intelligence and enforcement officials have told Microsoft-owned Linkedin that China is carrying out “super aggressive” efforts in their site for recruiting Americans having access to government and commercial secrets. However, William has declined to say about the total number of fake accounts they have unearthed till now. Reports say that the United States’ top spy catcher has asked Linkedin to shut down the fake LinkedIn accounts that were created by Chinese espionage agencies. The US response comes after German and British authorities warned their citizens of remaining alert of Chinese tactics of recruiting them as spies.
