Taliban fighters target Afghan security forces

  • Taliban militants killed 14 members and wounded 17 others of the Afghan forces in the country’s north, reports say.

    Over 200 Taliban fighters targeted an Afghan convoy of around 180 men in Sar-e-Pul province. In the ensuing fighting, 23 Taliban fighters were killed, but they managed to capture six Afghan troops. 

    Meanwhile, 14 people were killed in a car bombing in Wardak province. The suicide bomber exploded the car near a vehicle of the Afghan army.
