Taliban abducts 200 travelers in Afghanistan; 20 still hostage

Taliban abducted around 200 people in Afghanistan’s Kunduz province early Tuesday morning. Media reports quoted a police spokesman as saying that though Taliban has released a majority of the hostages but 20 still remain in their captivity. The victims were heading to Kunduz in two buses when they were stopped by the Taliban on the highway in Ali Abad district. Six people were killed on the spot while 185 people were taken to a remote village. The police are currently trying to secure the release of the remaining 20 hostages.
