Syria: Islamist rebels target intelligence headquarters in Aleppo
March 5 , 2015
A bomb attack on the intelligence headquarters of Syria’s Aleppo city has reportedly killed several security personnel.
A powerful bomb was first detonated in a tunnel near the facility, followed by gun attack by Islamist rebels on the building.
Both government and rebel forces control parts of Aleppo, which has been witnessing conflict since 2012.
Residents were quoted as saying that the blast was so powerful that it felt like an earthquake. Members of pro-government militias and rebel fighters were among those killed in the subsequent fighting.
