Suspected Syrian Chemical Attack Kills Dozens, Government Denies Charges

  • Medical relief organization Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) has said, in a statement, that at least 41 people were killed after a chemical attack in rebel held eastern Ghouta. The civil defense rescue service, working in the Syrian rebel-held areas, said in a tweet that the death toll is around 150. After the report started circulating on Saturday, Syrian government denied the charges and said that the rebels in the eastern Ghouta region are at the brink of losing control and that’s why are spreading false news. In a video circulated by activists show dead bodies of people including children and women being brought out of buildings with some of them having foam in their mouth. US demanded immediate international response, if the reports are confirmed.
