Federal police have reportedly arrested a man accused of moving 76 tons of cocaine into the United States between 2000 and 2003.
A $5M reward had been posted for the capture of Tirso Martinez Sanchez and reports suggest that he was arrested in the city of Leon yesterday. Sanchez is currently being held in a highly secured prison in Mexico.
According to officials, the man worked with several powerful cartels and used front companies in order to smuggle drugs in trucks, boats and rail tankers across the border of Mexico.
