Suicide Bomber Kills Over 128 in Pakistan's Election Rally just before Nawaz Sharif's Arrest

  • Election campaigning in Pakistan’s upcoming July 25 election became bloody as over 128 people were reportedly killed by a suicide bomber during an election campaigning in southwestern Pakistan. Balochistan Home Minister Agha Omer Bangulzai told media that the death toll has increased to 128 and more than 150 are wounded during the attack. ISIS has claimed responsibility of the attack. Friday’s attack killed Siraj Raisani, provincial assembly candidate of Balochistan. The incident happened just hours before Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was arrested from Lahore airport to serve a 10-year prison sentence. Paramilitary Rangers had to battle against thousands of Sharif’s supporters to escort him to the waiting car and then to another small aircraft.
