Suicide bomber attacked funeral

A suicide bomber has killed 11 people at a funeral near the city of Mosul in northern Iraq. The funeral was being held by members of Shabak minority on Saturday and reports suggest that at least 13 people have been wounded in the attack.
The Shabak, who number about 50,000 in total and have their own language as well as belief system live in villages east of Mosul.
Over 5,000 people have died in Iraq due to violence this year. United Nations said 800 have been killed in the month of August alone. Some of the violence in the country is also the result of the conflict in Syria.
The officials who confirmed the death toll have spoken anonymously since none of them are authorized to reveal any information to the press.
